We moved to the farm from Southampton in 1996. To say that we had never done any farming before was an understatement, so everything we have learnt has been very rewarding.

Over the years we have built up from 25 free range chickens and three aberdeen angus cows, to now having 150 Hubbard free range meat chickens, 500 Warren free range egg layers and a small aberdeen angus beef herd. We are looking into getting Tamworth pigs later in the year. We hope to source more seasonal produce that we do not produce ourselves from local producers.

Caradon farm itself consists of 32 acres. It was originally an old Copper mine and the farm house, which was built in 1840, was the home of the mine's Captain. The farm has two capped mine shafts and the out-buildings consist of an old engine house, a black smith shop and ore-washing facilities.

The farm has two Suffolk Punch horses that are being trained to work the land. We are planning to do live demonstrations in the future.
